Bill and Jenny met at the dime store that the Lang’s owned in town. She was also best friends with Bill’s sister Eva. They were quickly smitten with each other and fell in love and were married on June 16, 1962. Bill and Jenny just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June. They raised three amazing boys, John, Mark, and Matthew. They were so very proud of each of them.
Bill worked at the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Wixom for over 30 years until he retired. Bill had a zest for life and a gentle kindness. He was incredibly gifted in meeting and greeting new people and making them feel welcome. His kind smile and gentle way of talking to others was unforgettable. Bill’s other gift from God was praying for others. He was a true Prayer Warrior. Bill loved his family and God first and foremost. He enjoyed planting a huge garden, cutting wood, Dune Buggies and the Sand Dunes, camping, and riding motorcycles (in his younger days). He loved his goats, his sweet little dog Josie and pretty much being outside. He loved collecting and shooting guns.
He was a hard worker and loved serving at his church Fowlerville UB. He served faithfully every week as an usher and greeter up until recently when his health began to fail him. He loved and enjoyed all of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren with all of his heart.
A celebration of Bill’s life will take place on August 11th. Visitation will be at 10am, the service at 11am at the Fowlerville UB church, 9300 W. Grand River, Fowlerville, MI. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service.
