Wilfried Hamann
Former Fowlerville resident and Wesley Chapel, FL snowbird, Wilfried Hamann (84), passed away May 23, 2020 of cancer at his home in Mt. Holly, NC. Wilfried was born October 27 in Lassahn, Germany to Dora (Koner) and Ernst Hamann. In 1954 he came to the United States and worked as mechanic. He met Jean Ann Mack and was married in 1961. For 28 years he worked at General Motors, starting as a die maker and finishing as a foreman.
After retiring, he and Jean Ann traveled all over America. When they were not traveling, they were always doing “something” for “someone.” Hobbies included stained glass and most recently model trains. If someone needed something, he was the one to call, as he was best known for “being able to fix or build anything.”
He is survived by his daughter, Deb (Kevin) Short and son Duane (Sarah) Hamann, both of Fowlerville; brother, Hans Hamann of Germany; as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding him were his parents, his wife Jean Ann Hamann, along with 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
