U.S. Census workers now in the field dropping off information packets
Just as the state begins reopening, the U.S. Census field offices are reopening as well. Following a closure due to COVID-19, census workers are now in the field dropping off information “Update/Leave” packets for households that only receive PO box mail delivery. These responses are considered self-response and will be included in the reported response rates.
Self-responses will be collected through Oct. 31, and Census workers will begin visiting households for non-response follow-up beginning on Aug. 11. Additional reminders are also scheduled to be mailed out this month and in July.
