Nonpartisan Website to feature Candidate and Ballot Information for August 4 Primary
Concerns about the Corona Virus Pandemic and resulting limits on the number of people being able to gather together will provide a challenge to local candidates who wish to reach out to constituents prior to the August 4, 2020 primary election.
To assist the community in locating information on each candidate as well as ballot proposals in the primary election, the League of Women Voters of Michigan (LMV), and the Brighton-Howell Unit of the League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area are providing an online voter guide called Vote411.
The voter guide which can be found on line at will go live on June 20, 2020.  It will be available to the Livingston County community so they may learn more about the candidates prior to the August 4th primary.
Each candidate is invited via email, to contribute pertinent information on their views and positions by June 16, 2020.  In addition, candidates have the option of submitting their photograph. The unedited responses of each candidate will be published on the website.
Candidates who do not respond by June 16, will have: “Candidate did not respond” listed in their biography space.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization, which does not support or oppose candidates or political parties.  We encourage informed and active participation in government, work to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
All candidates in the upcoming primary election are encouraged to add their information to the website. Any candidate who did not receive an email from the LWV and would like their views and information to  be included on the website should contact Jennifer Cote at
In addition to candidate profiles, biographies and question responses, municipal and school proposals that will appear on the August 4th ballot will also be posted on the site. In addition to seeing the candidate’s responses and what’s on your ballot, viewers can check their voter registration, find your polling place, and discover upcoming debates in your area.
