Michigan State Police Brighton Post to host Citizens’ Academy on June 6
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Brighton Post is pleased to announce the second annual Citizens’ Academy, which will start June 6 and end July 25.  The academy will meet Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and will give citizens the opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the MSP, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community, and get to know personnel at the Brighton Post.
The first week of the academy will meet at the Brighton State Police Post on Wednesday, June 6, at 6:00 p.m. coinciding with the Brighton Post’s celebration of MSP’s 100th Anniversary.  A graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday July 6.  Individuals who are interested in attending the Citizens’ Academy should contact Trooper Olivia Sivy of the Brighton Post at 810-227-1051 or via email at sivyo@michigan.gov to receive an application.
