 Joseph R. Shields

Joseph R. Shields, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 19, 2024.

Born on February 16, 1939, in Royal Oak, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Judy, in 1973. A few years later Joe and Judy moved their family to Hartland and have lived the last 15 years in Fowlerville.

After many years in private business, he took a position at Oakland Community College as an electrician in the maintenance department, from where he eventually retired.

When living at their lake house in Hartland, Joe loved to boat and fish. He also enjoyed golf immensely, and he and Judy would escape to Florida for many winters. They often entertained friends and family, and their door was always open for visitors. Joe loved to be among people and especially his family. He took great joy in watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Known for his kindness, his love for his family, and his dedication to his work, Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
