Donations sought for LESA’s ‘Backpack for Kids/Connect for Kids’ event

The Livingston Educational Service Agency is holding the 23rd Annual Backpacks for Kids/Connect for Kids event on Thursday, August 8th.

The event is organized by the Livingston Educational Service Agency and aims to provide essential school supplies to Livingston County students whose families are facing financial challenges.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community members, this event continues to thrive. We warmly invite you to join us in supporting local children by donating backpacks and school supplies.

On Friday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a Livingston ESA Bus will be stationed at Howell Walmart. We encourage families shopping for school supplies to consider picking up an extra set of pencils, a pack of paper, or even a backpack to contribute to our Annual Stuff the Bus Campaign.

Donations for the 2024 Livingston ESA “Backpacks for Kids” project are welcomed until August 1st. Drop off your contributions at the Livingston ESA’s Education Center, 1425 West Grand River Avenue, Howell, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. For more drop-off locations and donation information, please visit LivingstonESA.org and click on Community Resources/Backpacks for Kids.

Last year, your support allowed us to distribute over 1,500 backpacks filled with school essentials to students from Preschool through 12th Grade. This year, our goal remains to provide the same support to 1,500 students across Livingston County. It’s through the kindness of residents, churches, and local businesses like yours that we can make this event a true success.

Once again, the Backpacks for Kids event will be a drive-through experience on August 8th, across all five school districts. Look for further details on distribution as the date approaches.

For more information, please call (517) 540-6802 or visit LivingstonESA.org. Your continued support means the world to us and the children we serve.
