137th Annual Fowlerville Family Fair runs from Monday thru Saturday, July 24-29
The 137th Annual Fowlerville Family Fair will be running from Monday thru Saturday, July 24-29.
The theme this year is “Where Stars, Stripes and Fair Delights,” reflecting this part of American tradition that dates back to the mid-1800s in Michigan. It’s an annual event that includes the excitement of the midway and the evening Grandstand shows as well as the animal exhibits and the arts-and-crafts projects.
The upcoming schedule includes the carnival rides and games-of-chance, put on by Skerbeck Entertainment Group, livestock judging, harness racing, demolition derbies, a rodeo, horse pulling, a spelling bee, combat wrestling, and a country music concert.
There’ll be Kids Day activities, commercial displays, and a variety of food, snacks, and refreshments. The Youth Still Life exhibits can be viewed at the 4-H Building and an adjacent building, while the livestock entries are located in the various barns in the back of the grounds.
A new Fair Queen and Homemaker of the Year will be crowned, and a Citizen of the Year announced.
There’ll be a wood carver creating unique sculptures each day, a put put golf course set up near the Finlan Gazebo, and the Farm to Fair exhibit providing informational diplays and activities in the dairy barn. The fair is also bringing back the Butterfly Tent which will be located in the front of the grounds.
Finally, the Livingston Centre Historical Village will have several of its buildings open for visitors to stop in and learn more about the area’s past.
