Disposal of unused medications & used needles offered on July 8th
The Big Red Barrel will be at Recycle Livingston on Saturday July 8, from 9 am to 1 am to collect unused medications and used needles. Recycle Livingston is located at 170 Catrell Drive in Howell. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance.
