Louis Sommer
Louis “Jerry” Sommer passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the age of 70 with his wife Barbara by his side. Jerry is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Heather (husband Richard), granddaughter Mariella, sister Pam (husband Nelson), and brother Jim (wife Coleen). Jerry was a devout Christian, loving husband and dedicated father. He was born July 15, 1949 in Howell, Michigan. Jerry lived his whole life in Livingston County where a mutual friend introduced him to his forever love Barbara, with whom he shared nearly 45 years of marriage. Jerry was a dedicated General Motors employee for over 30 years, working at the G.M. Proving Grounds, but his true passions included farming, using all John Deere equipment, raising cattle, and animals (especially his dogs).
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will take place at Family Life Wesleyan Church at 3720 Rowley Rd Williamston, MI later this spring. For service details please contact the Family Life Wesleyan Church directly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Life Wesleyan of Williamston or Youth Haven.
