This is Got ART's 22nd year!
Livingston Arts Council is proud to present an art show displaying the talents of Livingston County students K-12 at The Howell Opera House in downtown Howell. The art teachers select the art to be showcased for a week.
The quality of work from the schools is amazing. Each year is different because the teachers may be assigned to teach different curriculum-based criteria. Submissions may be two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. We will have two shows (Secondary and Elementary) running back to back without a break.
The students’ work never ceases to amaze! The teachers draw out the most from their students and they deliver! Many people in the community have commented on the ability our young people possess. The Art Council is thrilled with the caliber of our county students.
The benefits for the artists include being able to show their talent to our community, add the exhibition to their list of accomplishments for future college applications, increase their knowledge of displaying their work, and possibly sell their work to an interested person. It also lets them see the other students’ work and compare.
The goal, as always, is to have every art teacher in the county show off the talents of their students. Every year the exhibit gets comments from the community about the talent of our young people.
The Got Art show for Middle and High School (6th grade thru 12th grade) is March 10th through March 15th. The elementary Got Art Show is March 17th through March 22nd. The show is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4 until 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm until 5:00 pm.
