International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day will host a program on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 to 11am at the Livingston County Community Mental Health Miller Building, located at 622 East Grand River Howell.
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope. Survivor Day was created by an act of Congress in 1999 and since then has been sponsored and supported by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
In 2018 there were 370 total events, including 32 international sites in 19 countries.
This event is free and open to the public. Youth over the age of 12 are welcome to attend. A therapy dog will be in attendance.
The Program Schedule:
9:00—9:15 : Registration and light breakfast
9:15-11:00: Video, panel discussion, and resources will be shared.
