Meet noted author Mary Morgan of Haslett and shop for birthdays and summer reading for youth at a talk and book signing offered to the public at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Crossroads United Methodist Women are sponsoring the event.
Children and adults are welcome to meet Morgan, who will speak and autograph her books from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 13, at the church, corner of Haslett and Zimmer roads, east of Haslett and north of Williamston.
Morgan is especially known for her series of mysteries set in the national parks of the US, designed to educate and inspire young readers and their families to visit “America’s Best Idea”—the parks. She also has written books for preschoolers.
Morgan is a pastor’s wife, children’s worker, part-time youth leader and grandma. She and her family have visited 25 of the national parks, exploring and photographing all of them. Her main characters are twins Ben and Becca, and all the children in her books are based on children she knows.
There is no charge for the program. Light refreshments will be served. For details, contact the church at 517/655-1466, email at office.umccrossroads@gmail.com or find the church on Facebook.
