VINA Community Dental Center holding golf outing on July 21
VINA Community Dental Center is holding its 4th Annual Golf Outing on Friday, July 21, at the Majestic at Lake Walden in Hartland. The first 18 holes wind around the lovely spring-fed Lake Walden. A continental breakfast, lunch on the course, dinner, great games and prizes will combine for a day full of fun. Registration begins at 7:30am, Shotgun at 9am.
VINA relies on these fundraisers for income to provide basic dental care for roughly 2000 low-income, uninsured patients in Livingston County. We appreciate your support!

Scott L. Hanna
Scott L. Hanna passed away at home on Sunday, May 11, 2017 after a long illness. He was born March 18, 1965 to Ron and Linda Hanna in Howell. He was a lifelong Fowlerville resident. He lived in Fowlerville with his older brother, Matthew, caring for him after Matthew’s several strokes.
Scott attended and graduated from Fowlerville High School, earning his GED in 2001. He worked many years making and installing windows for Weathervane Windows in Brighton. He also drove a semi-truck over the road for a number of years.
Scott enjoyed hunting, playing many friendly pool games at the Bloated Goat Saloon through the years, and going to concerts with his two brothers, Tracy and Matthew. His favorite band was ‘AC/DC’. Hobbies were motorcycles, playing Frisbee, spending time with the many beloved family dogs including two very special ones—‘Flash’ his basset hound and ‘Max’ his beloved pug.
Surviving relatives include his brothers, Matthew Hanna and Tracy Hanna; his niece Lauren, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles. Scott was preceded in death by his parents—Ron in 2015 and Linda on March 10, 2017 and a brother, Brian Bradley in 1982.
His brothers wish to extend special thanks to cousins Tonya Ogden and Peg Bradley for all of their help during this difficult time. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Cremation has taken place through Herrmann Funeral Home. A memorial luncheon will be held at the Fowlerville VFW at a later date.
Joan Evelyn ‘Joannie’ Kelly
Joan Evelyn Kelly known by others as Joannie, Beloved mother of the former Michael Kelly, sister to Robert Carn and his wife Sandra Carn and aunt of Patricia and Randy Carn. Peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on May 18, 2017 in Fowlerville Michigan. She was born in Lansing Michigan November 21, 1930. Joannie was known by others for her loving ways and compassionate way of putting others first.
Previous restaurant owner, employee of Annie Rae and Waldecker Chevrolet, she also served on Fowlerville Planning Commission. Joan was a member of St John's Lutheran Church.
A celebration of Joannie’s life was held at Hermann Funeral Home in Fowlerville on Tuesday May 23rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday May 24 from 9a.m. - noon followed by funeral services at 12 noon, with Pastor Diane Greble officiating. Carol A. Albin
Carol A. Albin age 73 of Fowlerville passed away on May 21, 2017 at her home. She was born June 16, 1943 to Lloyd and Mabel Gardner of Lansing, and resided in the Fowlerville area for many years.
She was preceded in death by loving husband of 30 years Ben Albin, brothers: Robert and Clifford, and sister: Virginia.
She is survived by her children: Tim (Barb) Pugh, Lori Collier, Brian Pugh, Jeff (Bert) Pugh. Step-daughters: Lisa (Tony) Benavides, Michelle (Steve) Roper, and Amanda Albin. Brothers: Bill Gardner and Roger (Linda) Gardner. Several much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a seamstress for many years, a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary 4091, enjoyed camping, gardening, her beloved cats and naming her cows.
Visitation took place on May 24, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and May 25, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Services were held on May 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville, Burial followed at Alchin Cemetery in Webberville. Please send the family at condolence at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com

Plans are underway for the 2nd Annual ‘Fun in the Ville’ scheduled for Saturday, June 17. Once again a variety of activities will take place during the day at the Centennial Park next to the Fire Hall. Events start at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.
Arts & crafts, music, and a dunk tank with area celebrities are among the main activities. For the young set, there will be inflatables, knocker ball, and other fun offerings. Admission is free and many of the activities are also offered at no charge.
Food and refreshments will be available as well.
The Fowlerville Fire Dept. will be holding an Open House as part of the event.
‘Fun in the Ville’ is being put on by the Fowlerville Strategic Planning Committee, a group of volunteers that is part of the Fowlerville Downtown Development Authority. The committee wanted to offer a family-oriented event right after the end of the school year that offered “something fun for everyone.”

On Friday, June 2, all graduating seniors will meet at the Fowlerville High School for graduation practice. Directly following practice, all grads will pick up their cap and gowns, put them on and line up for the Gauntlet. The students will then walk through the high school for one last goodbye to staff and students. Grads will walk to the junior high to parade through their halls.
We would like to invite parents and any other family and friends to come up and join in the celebration. You can make signs, wave, clap etc. All parents must park in the bus parking lot between the High School and Junior High. Please respect that the high school is still conducting classes, and wait in the parking lot until the Gauntlet begins. We will have someone in the parking lot directing you as to where to stand.
Unfortunately, we only have an estimate as to when practice will be over and the Gauntlet will begin. We are estimating beginning the walk to the Junior High around 10:15 a.m., but you may want to come early just in case practice goes quickly.

Compete against your friends to walk the most kliometers, catch the most Pokémon, and hatch the most eggs during the time limit! Feel free to walk or ride a bike. *Register in person to attend. Registration begins June 7th. Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Teens 13 and older must have a signed Program Permission Form or be accompanied by an adult.
