Randal Jay Ferris
February 28, 1962 - July 19, 2025
Randal “Randy” Jay Ferris of Fowlerville, Michigan, departed to his eternal home on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at the age of 63 years old. Randy was born on February 28th, 1962 in Adrian, Michigan, to parents Patricia Ann Ferris and Gerald Norton Ferris.
Randy had a love for life’s simple joys. He was a bass fishing enthusiast. He found peace and pleasure in casting a line into the water both during his Wednesday night fishing league with his son, and on trips up north to Canada’s Lake Esnagi. Music was a constant companion no matter where he went. From driving the roads after a long day of hard work, to making sausage and pancakes for breakfast in the morning, Randy valued songs that moved him - including hits by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Prince’s Purple Rain halftime show performance, and the raw power of Frampton Comes Alive!
He was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines, proudly flying his U of M flag on the front of the house each Saturday. However, nothing brought him more delight than watching the next generation take the field. No matter if it was football, baseball, basketball, track, dance, cheerleading, or softball: whatever his kids or grandkids were into, he was there - present, proud, and coaching from the sidelines. Randy loved movies with heart and grit such as Rocky, A Christmas Carol, Little House on the Prairie, and Gladiator, and would quote them regularly to remind those around him the value of strength and love.
He also had a deep appreciation for making memories with his family, especially through travel: spring break trips to Florida, trips to Mexico or New York City, and visits to Nashville to see his daughter. Every place that Randy went, he brought with him laughter, warmth, life lessons, and fond memories to be made. Randy had an enormously big heart, and a kind and generous soul. He instilled in us all the value of integrity and unconditional love. His memory will live on in the hearts of each of his family members and friends, who he loved dearly. Randy is deeply missed and forever loved.
Randy is survived and missed by his loving family including wife, Alesia of Fowlerville, MI; his children, Leann of Fowlerville, Jillian of Nashville, and Tyler (Allison) of Williamston; his grandchildren, Emmett, Ainsley, and Crew; his mother, Patricia of Deford; and his siblings, Cass (Leah) of Saginaw and Ray (Bonnie) of Deford. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Ferris.
