John Michael David
John Michael David passed away peacefully at his home on December 4, 2023.
He was born on May 14, 1962, in Highland Park, MI, the son of William and Lillie Ann (Hilzinger) David, both of whom preceded him in passing.
John was a 1980 Howell High School graduate and for the following 40 years worked alongside his father on the family farm in Fowlerville, MI. In addition to farming, he was also a self-taught sheet metal engineer.
John had a passion for the outdoors and was often referred to as a “Steward of the Forest.” His talents included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, woodworking, music, and cooking, especially over an open fire. He enjoyed hosting many fishing and hunting camps with family and friends, especially with his brother, nephew and grand-nephews. John had a kind heart and was always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved animals and could often be found nursing ones that were hurt or caring for their abandoned young. John is going to be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his siblings: Bonnie (Paul) Such, Mary Ellen Loomis, Martha (William) Christine, William (Kelly) David; his nieces and nephews: John (Tina) Loomis, Jennifer (Scott) Schreier, Josh Such, Jnanna David, Anna Christine, Alexandra David, Nick (Chelsea) Such, Peter Christine, Max Thomas; and 3 grand-nieces and 2 grand-nephews.
A celebration of John’s life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
