Suzanne A. (Sue) Maleitzke
On Monday, December 11, 2023, Suzanne A. (Sue) Maleitzke went home to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born on September 16, 1936 to Robert and Bernadine Holmes in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sue grew up in Hastings, Michigan with her 5 sisters and one brother. She met her future husband, Gordon, while working in a restaurant near Haslett, Michigan. They were married June 8, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fowlerville.
Sue worked as a waitress, a typist, an office clerk and spent 40 years building and operating a local business with her husband. But, most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a good cook and made the best homemade pie crust ever.
Love for her family showed in everything she did. Her skill with ceramic crafts and painting was enjoyed by many, as she gave most finished pieces away. Her love and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation was held on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home. A funeral service was taking place on Saturday, December 16th at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church following a visitation prior at noon with Pastor Diane Greble officiating. Burial was to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
