American Legion Post to lead Howell Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 29
On Monday, May 29, the American Legion Devereaux Post 141 Memorial Day Parade will depart the Howell Carnegie Library at 10am.
The parade will travel east on Grand River, making stops at the Revolutionary Monument and Court House Veterans Monument for the laying of the wreaths, then will turn north on Barnard Street and enter the Lakeview Cemetery from Madison Street. The final wreath will be placed at the Civil War Monument.
The public is invited to attend the Memorial Day Ceremony immediately following the parade near the American Legion section of the cemetery. State Representative Hank Vaupel and Howell Mayor Nick Proctor will lead the ceremony, remembering the people who died while serving in our country’s armed forces. The Howell High School Marching Band and the Marine Corps League will also participate.
