Former school superintendent Fred Kessler died on Nov. 25 at age 84
   Former Fowlerville school superintendent Fred Kessler died on Nov. 25 at age 84. He was residing in Macomb, Michigan at the time of his death.
   Kessler was employed as the top administrator with the Fowlerville Community Schools from July 1984 until July 1989. He went on to become the Dean at Cleary College in Brighton. While in Fowlerville he was member of the Rotary Club.
   Kessler began his career in education as a teacher in Utica and went on to serve as an administrator at the Clintondale and Romeo school districts.
   Frederick ‘Fritz’ Kessler served his country as a Marine in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Cheryl (DeVeaux), Lisa (Orlando), Vicky (John), and Julie (Bob); 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Bill, Claudia, and Ertman.
   Preceding him in death were his sisters, Mary and Patricia.
   Funeral services were held on Dec. 3, 2016 at St. Thecla Church in Clinton Township.
