Carol Haviland
Fowlerville, MI
Her Legacy… Carol Kay (Carney) Haviland, 81, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1944 in Brighton, MI to Edward Carney and Arla (Burgett) Carney. Carol married the love of her life, Verne Haviland, on September 26, 1996 on the Home Farm in Fowlerville, Michigan. She will be remembered as a woman who was generous to a fault, always wanting to be sure others were taken care of with birthday presents, cards, and general loving care. She loved birds and animals, including the abandoned baby squirrels she adopted, skunks, and her kitty cat, as well as any other furry four-legged animal she might encounter.
Carol also found joy in her flower gardens and collecting rocks of all shapes and sizes. She often explored garage sales and auctions looking for undiscovered gems. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a lot of fun playing card games like Euchre. Carol also planned wonderful events everyone looked forward to, like her annual New Year’s Eve party. Carol was also quite athletic in her younger years enjoying water skiing, often being launched right off the dock on one ski!
Her Family… Carol will be missed by her husband, Verne; step-son, Ray Haviland; sisters, Durene Keller, and Caren Biermann; nephews, Bobby Keller and Robert (Lisa) Pelcher; niece, Arla (Cal) Heckman; and six grandchildren; many great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Arla; and her step-daughter, Robin Murphy.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society. Please leave a message of comfort for Carol’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign her guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
