Silent Auction being held at the Webberville Library during November
    Fall is here, and that means that the 3rd Annual Friends of the Webberville Library Silent Auction will soon be underway.
    The Friends are asking you to consider donating art, themed gift baskets, handcrafted and homemade items for the Silent Auction. Intake of donated items will run from October 24th through November 4th during the Webberville Library’s open hours.  
    Bidding will take place while Items are on display throughout the Library from November 7th through 6:00 pm on November 21st. All proceeds will benefit the Webberville Library.

 ‘Surviving the Holidays’ theme of seminar offered by Grief Share
    No matter how long it has been since your loved one died, grief can make the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays a painful time.  But there’s hope. 
    Family Impact Center is offering this encouraging video seminar that will help you discover new reasons to enjoy the holidays again.  You will receive a booklet for note-taking that also contains valuable information to take home and put to use.   There is no charge for this event, which is being held on Sunday, November 20th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Family Impact Wellness Center, located at 9430 W. Grand River Avenue in Fowlerville.

St. Mary’s of Pinckney holding Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 3 
     St Mary's Rosary Altar Society is holding a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 3, from 10am-4pm. Free Admission. Over 120 crafters and vendors! Bake Sale, Raffle, 50/50. Lunch & Refreshments available for purchase.  The church is located at 10601 Dexter Pinckney Rd, Pinckney.

 Plainfield United Methodist to serve Chicken & Biscuit Supper on Nov. 12
   A Chicken and Biscuit Supper will be served at the Plainfield United Methodist Church, 17845 M-36, north of Gregory on Saturday, Nov. 12, starting at 5 pm. Free will donation. Take outs available. All are welcome.

Shelva Jean Russell (Smith)

    Shelva Jean Russell (Smith) 79, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. Shelva is survived by her brother, Jerry Smith and her children: sons Louis Marrow and Clyde Russell, daughters: Sherry Marrow, Tinia Sisco and Bonnie Thurman. She was a proud grandma of 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She always been free spirited and loved by many. She had a love of music and dance. She was born in Michigan, later moving to Tennessee. In 1996 she moved back to Michigan. She is now at peace and in the loving arms of her sister Doris and brother David. Maxine Schoonover

    Maxine Schoonover, age 87 of Fowlerville, died on Oct. 20, 2016. She was born on Oct. 16, 1929, the daughter of Etta and Erwin Sheldon. She was married to Wilbert Schoonover on June 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2015. The couple moved to Fowlerville in 1960 after purchasing a farm on North Gregory Road in Conway Township.
    Maxine was the bookkeeper for Schoonover Produce--the family business. She was a Red Cross volunteer for over 40 years and served many of those years as a chair for the Fowlerville Blood Drive. She and her husband were active in the National Soil Conservation Service, including the Northwest Livingston Soil & Conservation District as well as at the state and North Central Region levels. Twice she was named ‘Woman of the Year’ for the multi-state North Central Region District. The couple was members of the Michigan Farm Bureau and, Maxine belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Fowlerville.
   Survivors include her sons: Mike (Noreen) Schoonover and Mark (Lisa Judd) Schoonover; a daughter: Patti (Scott) Bell; grandchildren: Louisa Trott, Tara Bell, and Ryan Bell; six great grandchildren; sisters: Betta Beach and Catherine Muckenhirn; and a brother: Butch Sheldon.
   She was preceded in death by her sisters: Lucille Schoonover and Lena Fischer, and a brother: Milo Sheldon.
   Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville. Funeral services will be held on Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Fowlerville. Burial will take place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

Gary Ralph Raddatz

    Gary Ralph Raddatz, 74, of Fowlerville, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, October, 24, 2016 at home. Gary was born in Howell to Ralph and Margaret Raddatz but lived and operated a dairy farm in Fowlerville his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Bette Clark and Shirley Thurlby. 
   He was a loving and caring husband of 52 years to Kathleen Raddatz (Hibbard), father of two, Ray Raddatz (his wife Susan) of Howell and Renee Koven (her husband Dale) of Fowlerville. He had five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Lawrance, Katelynn, Logan, Kourtnie, and one great grandson: Ender. Gary was a fun loving, caring person, who adored his grandchildren and attended as many school and sporting events as possible. 
   Visitation was held on Thursday between 4-8 pm at the Herrmann Funeral Home, 1005 E. Grand River, Fowlerville, MI 48836. The funeral service was held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Gary’s name to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation (http://pkdcure.org/donate/tribute/) or the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org/index).
