Fowlerville Swap Meet will bring bargain hunters back to the fairgrounds
Almost 200 vendors and thousands of vintage and classic car enthusiasts are expected at the 53rd Annual Vintage Motor Car Club of America (VMCCA) Great Lakes Region Swap Meet to be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Fowlerville Fairgrounds, 8800 W. Grand River Ave. in Fowlerville.
Since moving to the fairgrounds over 40 years ago, the event has become an annual rite of spring for bargain hunters seeking old car parts, automotive literature and memorabilia, tools, hardware, antiques and much more.
Vendors from as many as 17 different states, including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and the greater Midwest, will once again converge on the event’s traditional “first weekend of May”.
Considering the size of the open fairgrounds field (over 300 spaces are available), booth sizes are a generous 15’ x 30’, at a cost of $30 each in advance (early registrations must be received no later than April 18) or $40 each after April 18 and at the gate on May 2, which opens to dealers for set-up at 7:00am.
The one-day swap meet is open to the general public from 8:00am-5:00pm, with a gate fee of $5 for anyone over 12 (kids free when accompanied by an adult). A car corral for selling vehicles is also available for $20. Local Livingston County concessionaire Tony’s Dogs will be onsite all day with hot and cold food and drinks.
