 ‘Michigan hummingbird guy’ to address Hartland Audubon Nature Club Nov. 11

    Allen Chartier, “Michigan’s hummingbird guy” will present “Colombia & Andean region hummingbirds” at the Hartland Audubon Nature Club, Nov.11th at 7pm.

    Allen has birded in 28 countries and all 50 U.S. states. He has been a bird bander since 1997 and a hummingbird bander since 2000 when he began the Great Lakes HummerNet research project.

    He is co-editor of "A Birder's Guide to Michigan", published by the ABA, and has been a contributing author for various recent projects with National Geographic including "Complete Birds of North America", "Complete Birds of the World", and "Handheld Birds". He was lead editor of the "Second Michigan Breeding Bird Atlas" (online 2011) and "Michigan Breeding Bird Atlas II" (print 2013). In 2018, He authored "Field Guide to Birds of Michigan" published by the ABA. We are honored to have him present at our meeting.

    Join us Tuesday, Nov. 11, (date changed to second Tuesday as election falls on first Tuesday) 7pm, at the Hartland Education Support Service Center, 9525 E. Highland Road, Howell. Use the west entrance and look for our sign in the hall. Meetings are free, open to the public and all ages and levels of expertise are welcomed.
