Norman Gordon Tefft
Norman Gordon Tefft of Fowlerville was born December 11, 1928, to Homer and Gertrude Tefft. He entered eternal peace on Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was married to the June (Glover) Tefft of Fowlerville for over 40 years. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Norman was beloved by his family, community and closest friends. A lifelong resident of the community, he would often reminisce on his days of delivering milk and as a farmhand, for which he was paid $3.00 a day and two meals. He talked about watching the power lines go up in and around Fowlerville and how hard it was to make “ends-meet” during that time period. Norman was always optimistic and smiling. He embraced life and had a passion for the outdoors. Norman spent much of his time in his garden that he shared with his best friend of more than 50 years, Leonard Cieslak.
Norman was a man that always gave back to his family and community. He and his wife assisted many family members and friends as well as fostering over 14 children during their marriage.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: Forrest Tefft and a sister: Lucille Carusi.
Survivors include daughters: Geraldine Brown Rader of Franklin, Ohio; Elba Blevins of Bolivar, Missouri; and Ruth Ann Trollman of Gaylord, Michigan; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The world has lost a wonderful soul and he will truly be missed. In accordance with Norman’s wishes, funeral services were not held. He has been cremated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville.
