Dale Lynn Gerred

Dale Lynn Gerred of Fowlerville, MI, born on September 15, 1940, passed away at the age of 84 on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Billie Gerred; his daughter, Eve Van Patten; and his son, Michael Gerred. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler Van Patten (Isabella Dixon), Maleena Van Patten, and Alex Gerred (Gerry Gerred).

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Neil Gerred; his mother, Margaret Gerred; and his two brothers, Billie Gerred, and Robert Gerred.

 Webberville United Methodist Church to hold Chicken Dinner on Oct. 19th

Webberville United Methodist Church, located at 4215 E. Holt Rd., is having a ‘drive through’ chicken dinner on Saturday, Oct.19. The dinner includes two pieces of oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, green beans, corn casserole, coleslaw, roll and cookies. All for $10. Dinner served 5 to 7 pm or until we run out.

 Livingston County EMS will celebrate Fowlerville Substation with ribbon cutting celebration on Oct. 24th

Livingston County EMS will be commemorating their new substation at 200 N Grand St. in Fowlerville with a ribbon-cutting celebration on Thursday, October 24th at 4:30 p.m. Local Fowlerville residents and families are welcomed to come tour the new space, take a look at an ambulance and other public safety vehicles, enjoy a cookie, and meet some of the EMS providers who are devoted to serving our community.

“We’re thrilled to have a base presence in the Village of Fowlerville,” said EMS Director David Feldpausch. “This the first step in improving our rural EMS coverage and it’s a pleasure to be imbedded in the heart of such a great community. This opportunity would not be possible without the amazing relationship we’ve created with the Fowlerville Fire Authority and their Chief Bob Feig.”

Livingston County EMS is proud to provide both 911 Emergency Medical Services and non-emergency transportation services throughout the county’s 584 square miles. With their singular focus of continually improving patient care, the new Fowlerville substation will allow EMS to provide better coverage to the county’s rural areas and allow for the quickest response times.

“We look forward to opening the substation to our residents so they can take a closer look at the world of public safety,” said Feldpausch.

 ‘Legend of Sleepy Howell’ coming Oct. 19th to Downtown October 19th – 3:00pm-5:00pm

We’re excited to bring Legend of Sleepy Howell, Livingston County’s Largest outdoor trick-or-treating event to Downtown Howell! This year’s theme is Monsters and we want to see your best costumes!

This year’s Legend will have FREE trick-or-treating on Clinton, Court, and Church St. There will also be Halloween and fall-themed activities on State St. and the Howell Courthouse lawn. Activities include games, food vendors, inflatables and more!

Headless Horseman 5K & Monster Mile planned Oct. 19th October 19th – 6:00pm-8:00pm

The Headless Horseman 5K is BACK and SPOOKIER than ever! This dusk event will be in-person and kick-off at State and Clinton Streets in beautiful Downtown Howell. Costumed participants will wind their way through the historic neighborhoods and through Scofield City Park. Participants will receive a long-sleeved 50/50 blend shirt if registered by the end of the day on September 30th.

Early Packet Pick up will take place Oct. 15th -18th at the Oceola Community Center 1661 N. Latson Rd. Howell MI 48843 during normal business hours.

 Fowlerville Alumni Association reminds classes of milestone graduation dates

In the spirit of Fowlerville’s Homecoming Week, the Fowlerville High School Alumni Association reminds the following classes of milestone graduation dates: 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020. We are really trying to get the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and now ’20s. The banquet is a great time especially when we hear from honored classes.

We are looking for class speakers to raise a glass and toast your class at the 131st FHS Alumni Association banquet on Saturday, June 7, 2025. If you are interested/available, please contact Cindy Krebs at 517.375.3014 to learn more.

Regardless of your graduation year, all graduates/attendees of FHS are welcome to attend the banquet. All money raised supports graduating seniors who are pursuing college or trade school.
