Fowlerville School Bands holding mattress fundraiser Sunday, Oct. 17

If you or someone you know is looking to replace a bed in your home, now is the time. Fowlerville School Bands are excited to announce they will be hosting a one-day Mattress Fundraiser on Sunday October 17th, from 11am-4pm. For one day only, the High School will be transformed into a mattress showroom. For information about the sale, go to bit.ly/beds4fowlerville21.

There will be 25 different mattress styles on display in all sizes in styles for customers to try, priced below retail. Adjustable power bases, premium pillows, bed frames, and mattress protectors will be available as well. Brands like Simmons Beautyrest, come with full factory warranties, are made to order, and will be available 2-3 weeks after the fundraiser. Delivery is available. Best of all, the Bands benefit from every purchase.

The company, Custom Fundraising Solutions (CFS) first introduced The Mattress Fundraiser to the Cleveland, Ohio market in 2005. The company now has over 100 locations and works with more than 2,000 schools nationwide. The unique business model helps schools raise thousands of dollars in just one day, and to date, the company has given back over $40 million.

On March 5 , Family Impact Centers began its 19th year of providing both help with immediate needs as well as hope for long-term restoration to those in Fowlerville and throughout the surrounding communities. As of today, over 2,897 unduplicated families have been enrolled in our food program alone. (“Unduplicated” means that each family is counted only once, regardless of how many times they have received assistance.) We have always been a Client-Choice Food Pantry and will continue to do so even though pickup is “curb-side.” In addition, clothingfor all ages is also available. Grief Share: Wednesdays (Now – December 15) from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.This faith-based program/support group is for anyone grieving the death of someone close. You will find it to be a warm, caring environment that includes encouraging, information-packed videos featuring leading grief recovery experts. A workbook is provided both for notetaking and for use between sessions. There is no fee. Please call 517-223-4428 to register. You may begin anytime.

“Surviving the Holidays” by Grief Share: Wednesday, November 17 from 6 – 8 p.m. No matter how long it has been since your loved one has passed away, grief can make the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays a painful time. But there is hope… This encouraging and informative seminar is free of charge and will help you both get through your difficult times and discover new ways to enjoy the holidays again. You will receive a booklet for notetaking that also contains valuable material for you to keep and put to use.

 Fowlerville Community School celebrating Homecoming Week

It’s Homecoming Week at Fowlerville Community Schools, with students taking part in various special events. Dress-up Days will be held, starting this Monday and culminating with the wearing of ‘Gold & Purple’ on Friday.

The Homecoming Parade steps off from the school grounds at 5:30pm on Friday, heads through Downtown Fowlerville, and returns to school. The varsity football game with Mason kicks off at 7pm, with the presentation of the Homecoming Court, along with the crowning of a new king and queen, taking place at halftime.

The Homecoming Dance at the high school ends the festivities on Saturday evening.

Livingston Centre Historic Village committee to meet on Oct. 6

The committee for the Livingston Centre Historic Village will meet Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7:00pm in the Fowlerville Fair Office.

The agenda will include the final discussion of the recent Fall Fest, held on Sept. 11 at the Historic Village inside the Fowlerville Fairgrounds. Other topics will include an overview of the activities of the 2021 season and possible events/projects for 2022.

All interested individuals are invited to attend these open monthly meetings and learn more about efforts to preserve Livingston County's history. New ideas and fresh input regarding coming projects are always welcome. 

 Crossroads United Methodist Church holding rummage sale   Oct. 16

Find your treasures at the fall rummage sale at Crossroads United Methodist Church.

The sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 16, at the church, corner of Haslett and Zimmer roads, east of Haslett and north of Williamston. The rummage sale will feature gently used books, home furnishings, dishes, toys, decorative items, accessories and jewelry, tools, shoes, but no clothing. Masks will be required inside the building.
