Webberville to celebrate Christmas with tree lighting, parade & Visit with Santa
Webberville will celebrate Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 14, with its fourth annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Light Parade, along with the Visit with Santa Claus party at the Leroy Township Fire Department.
Parade line-up takes place between 6 and 6:15 p.m. at Clark Street and Grand River for those wishing to participate.
The lighting of the Community Christmas Tree ceremony, meanwhile, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Gazebo on East Grand River in Webberville. Both the school choir and high school band will peform musical selections during the ceremony. Lighting the tree will be the Webberville FFA Ag Issues Team that finished third during recent national competition.
Following the tree lighting, a parade will proceed from Clark Street west along Grand River through the Downtown to Elm Road and then south to the fire hall.
These events are being sponsored by the Webberville Downtown Development Authority and the Strategic Planning Committee.
Starting at 7 p.m., the Leroy Fire Association will host their annual ‘Visit with Santa’ party at the hall. Refreshments will be served, and the kids will receive a holiday bag of goodies after they visit with Santa. Those attending are encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to help ‘Stuff the Bus’ as a donation to the Webberville Food Bank.
The Webberville Library will once again be sponsoring ‘The Balloon Guys’ at the Fire Hall. They will be using balloons to create reindeer antlers, elf hats, and similar holiday items for the children in attendance.
