Williamston Area Senior Center plans Black History Month program Feb. 19
Dr. Stephen Jefferson, an Associate Professor at Eastern Michigan University, College of Arts & Science, Psychology Department, will be the keynote speaker for the Williamston Area Senior Center’s Black History Month program. He is a resident of Williamston.
Dr. Jefferson's presentation, “Who Would You Be in the Stories of Black History: Hero, Villain, or Accessory?” will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 12:30 pm at the Center. He will explore the genesis of Black History Month as well as the scope of its potential effects on society at large. Additionally, he will explore the strategies that have historically been used to control the behaviors of black people which may now be spilling over to affect other populations in the United States, including white citizens.
