Livingston Land Conservancy Launches WALK FOR THE WILD Fundraiser

Like many other non-profit charities, the Livingston Land Conservancy has had to rethink its annual fundraising event in this time of COVID-19. Instead of our event at the Howell Opera House, we had to think outside the box. Then we thought: “THAT’S IT! GET OUTSIDE!”

What better way to celebrate the natural beauty of the Livingston County area than to experience the great outdoors while at the same time raising much needed awareness and funding of our land protection efforts. So the LLC is excited to announce our first WALK FOR THE WILD virtual fundraiser October 1 to November 7 – a perfect time to walk, hike, ride or paddle almost anywhere you want and on your own schedule, and all on behalf of the LLC and its ongoing conservation efforts.

This year’s virtual event is generously sponsored by FMG Concrete Cutting of Brighton.

Outdoor enthusiasts simply need to register for the event at the LLC website, then visit a favorite local, county or state park, hiking trail, bike trail or lake or river during the beautiful fall season. When you go and how far you go is up to you. Friends and family can be recruited to make donations on behalf of your adventure, and all funds raised will go to the LLC’s Stewardship and Land Acquisition Funds to preserve and protect natural land, woods, wetlands and productive farmland in Livingston County.

So, get out your sneakers, hiking boots, bike, kayak or canoe and start spreading the word to any outdoor enthusiasts you know - get them to support your WALK FOR THE WILD!

To register as an individual, to create or join a team, or to simply donate, visit the LLC website at livingstonlandconservancy.org.
