Jerry Joseph Scepka
    Jerry Joseph Scepka, age 73 of Perry, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 14, 2016 after a short illness. 
    Jerry was born on July 13, 1943 in Owosso to the late Joseph Mike and Mary Agnes (Frolka) Scepka. On November 10, 1962 Jerry married the love of his life Joyce (Lynn) Scepka. 
   Jerry was a former truck driver, farmer, and builder in the Mid-Michigan area for 50 years. He was a board member for the Shiawassee County Home Builders Association for 20 years; he loved golf, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry will always be remembered for his consideration of others, his gentle spirit, integrity, honesty, and his positive outlook on life. Jerry always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help others. 
    Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; his daughter Dawn (Michael) Kevern; sons: Shawn (Candace) Scepka, and Kevin Scepka. Grandchildren: Christopher Turner, Brittany (Joseph) Szombati, Anthony (Stephanie) Kevern, Jason Scepka, Sarah Scepka, Madison Fulayter, Ashleigh (Kyle) Percival, Joseph (Leigh) Ocenasek, Hayley (Zachary) Markell, and Riley Scepka. Great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Logan, Alayna, Avery, and Mason. His brother, George (LeAnn) Scepka, and his sisters: Mildred (Darrel) Klein and Phyllis (Dave) Schneider. He will be greatly missed by his many dear friends and extended family.
    Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11am at the Perry Baptist Church, with Pastor Scott Lynn officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery. The family received friends at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel on Tuesday, October 18, from 2pm-8pm and from 10am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. 
   Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name are suggested to the family for future designation.
