Red Cedar Jubilee in full swing this coming week
The annual Red Cedar Jubilee in Williamston will be in full swing this coming week.
The Demolition Derby started off the schedule this Saturday, June 14th with a ‘Night of Destruction’ at the Howard Dahlstrom Park. The action was schedule to underway at 6 p.m, with admission $5 for ages 5-11 and $10 for ages 12 and up.
The ‘Citizen of the Year’ Dinner is planned on Monday, June 16, at the Brookshire Inn & Golf Course. The reservation-only event starts at 6:30 p.m.
The ‘Senior Citizens’ Picnic will be held on Tuesday, June 17, from ll:30 am. to 1:30 p.m. at McCormick Park.
The number of activities grows larger starting Wednesday, July 18, with the opening of the Food & Beverage Tent and the start of the Arnold Amusement Carnival, with both being at Howard Dahlstrom Park. The Tent will feature live entertainment all four days its open—Wednesday thru Saturday, while the carnival will have rides and games through Sunday.
Other ongoing activities at Dahlstrom Park include a Dunk Tank and Pony Rides.
Wednesday’s schedule also features Scout Games at McCormick Park at 4 p.m., followed by a Kids Parade from McCormick Park to the Jubilee Tent starting at 6 p.m. and a Euchre Tournament at the Tent starting at 7p.m..
Thursday’s itinerary includes a Cornhole Tournament at Dahlstrom Park that gets underway at 5 p.m., the Williamston Weekly Cruise-In along Grand River in Downtown Williamston from 5 to 9 p.m., and the Music at the Shell concert at McCormick Park at 7 p.m.
Friday’s main highlight is a Senior Fundraising Sale at the Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday is a busy day with a Craft Show at McCormick Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., a Car Show and Antique Car Rides at the Eagles Club (835 High Street) starting at 10 a.m., a Chicken Bar-B-Que at the Eagles Club that begins at 12 noon, the Grand Parade at 11:30 a.m. that goes along Grand River through the Downtown, the Rotary Duck Drop being held at the Putnam Street Bridge at 2 p.m., and the Fireworks at Dahlstrom Park which begins at dusk (around 10 p.m.).
Sunday features the Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast at the Jubilee Tent from 8 to 11 a.m. the weekly Farm & Artisan Market at the McCormick Park Parking Lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the final day of Arnold Amusement Carnvial from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Red Cedar Jubilee Food & Beverage Tent at Howard Dahlstrom Park will be open from Wednesday thru Saturday. In addition to a number of food entres and beverages, musical entertainment is planned all four evenings.
Wednesday: Ukettes 6-8pm
Thursday: Blake James 6-10pm
Friday: Crash Landing 7-11pm
Saturday: Potts Road Band and Swamp Donkey Band 3-7pm & 7-11pm
The Tent will be open on Wednesday and Thursday from 11am to 11pm and on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 11:59pm.
