Hartland Audubon Nature Club holding meeting on March 4th
The Hartland Audubon Nature Club welcomes Gretchen Abrams, executive director of Detroit Bird Alliance, to its meeting on March 4, starting at 7pm. With 20 years of leadership in environmental education and 15 years of management experience at non-profits, she has a proven record of creating and growing programs that benefit mental and physical well-being and nurture future stewards of birds and the environment.
Gretchen will explain how the Detroit Bird City project is a model to increase bird population and combat climate change at the local level by turning turf grass into a native bird meadow that benefits every living creature. Any Livingston County community can become a bird city by following guidelines of Bird City Network to increase habitat, reduce threats to birds, engage people and promote sustainability. What a gift for our home community to make it healthier for birds and us.
Join us Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 7 PM, at the Hartland Education Support Service Center, 9525 E. Highland Road, Howell. Use the west entrance and look for our sign in the hall. Meetings are free and open to the public. For more information go to www.hartlandaudubon.weebly.com or visit us on Facebook.
