Donald B. Hibbard, Sr.
     Donald B. Hibbard, Sr., age 87 of Fowlerville, passed away late Monday morning, August 28, 2017.  Born on June 23, 1930 on the family farm in Howell Township, he was the son of Basil R. and Lucille (Cummiskey) Hibbard.  A lifelong area resident, Donald was a 1950 graduate of Howell High School.  
     While in school, he was a member for 10 years of the 4H Club in which among other things he participated in livestock, gardening and wood working.  He was also a member of the Future Farmers of America for four years.  This membership qualified him to attend the 1948 annual convention in Kansas City.  Following high school, he served as a 4-H Leader for 25 years, 15 years of which he served as 4-H Superintendent of Small Animals and Poultry. Donald also volunteered for several organizations including missions. He had been employed as a landscaper, retiring from the GM Proving Grounds. 
     Beloved husband of 62 years to Lula (Miller) Hibbard whom he married in Fenton on July 9, 1955.  Loving father of Donald B. (Pamela) Hibbard, Jr. of Howell and Elisabeth M. (Eric) Karschnick of Chelsea.  Proud grandfather of Rebekah Roberts, Brienne Huff, Ryan Karschnick, Alicia Hibbard, Benjamin Karschnick, Bethany Carpenter and Zachary Karschnick.  Brother of Nellie Stenson of Clare, the late Donna LeValley, the late Roger Hibbard, the late Alice Hibbard and the late Harriet Bader.  
     Donald was a charter member and very active at Marr Community Bible Church, 4494 N. Burkhart Road, Howell, where a funeral service in honor and celebration of his life will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Sanford Cemetery.   Visitation was being held Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800).  Memorial contributions are suggested to Marr Community Bible Church.
