Michigan State Police to hold 2nd annual Citizens Academy, starting May 18
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Brighton Post is pleased to announce the second annual Citizens’ Academy, which will start May 18 and end June 28.  The academy will meet from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and will give citizens the opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the MSP, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community, and get to know personnel at the Brighton Post.
The first week of the academy will meet at the Brighton State Police Post on Thursday, May 18 at 4:00 p.m. coinciding with the Brighton Post’s celebration of MSP’s 100th Anniversary.  A graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday June 28.  Individuals who are interested in attending the Citizens’ Academy should contact Trooper Olivia Sivy of the Brighton Post at 810-227-1051 or via email at sivyo@michigan.gov to receive an application.
