Webberville to celebrate Christmas with tree lighting, parade & Visit with Santa
Webberville will celebrate Christmas this Saturday, Dec. 10, with its first annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Light Parade, along with the Visit with Santa Claus party at the Leroy Township Fire Department.
The lighting of the Community Christmas Tree ceremony starts 6:30 p.m. in the Downtown. At the event, the winner of the Business Christmas Decorating Contest will be awarded a plaque.
Following the tree lighting, a parade--led by Santa Claus--will proceed from Clark Street to Elm Road and then south on Elm to the fire hall. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade, please contact Jaymee at jhord@villageofwebberville.com.
The two new events are being sponsored by the Webberville Downtown Development Authority and the Strategic Planning Committee.
Starting at 7 p.m., the Leroy Fire Association will host their annual ‘Visit with Santa’ party at the hall. Refreshments will be served, and the kids will receive a holiday bag of goodies after they visit with Santa. Those attending are encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items as a donation to the Webberville Food Bank.
