Designers wanted for Annual Runway Repurposed ‘Fashion is Art’ Event
The 9th Annual Runway Repurposed committee is searching for contestants to register for a unique, eco-friendly fashion design program hosted by the Livingston Arts Council. Runway Repurposed is a fundraiser for the Howell Opera House that combines the art of fashion design with the use of recycled clothing and materials.
Registration will be held at the Howell Opera House from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9 and Tuesday, January 10. The Howell Opera House is located at 123 W. Grand River, downtown Howell.  All guidelines and event details will be available at that time.
All ages are welcome to register for the competition in one of the designer categories: Young Beginner, Beginner Student, Beginner Adult, Advanced, and Avant Garde.  Registration fee: Student and Young Beginner, $20; Adult Beginner, Advanced, and Avant Garde, $35. Contestant designers choose clothing and materials at registration from a collection of hundreds of donated pieces to recreate a new, original garment to showcase on the runway on February 12, 2017, at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center. The finished garments are judged and prizes and trophies are awarded for each category.
