George W. Lee Civil War Round Table to meet Feb. 12 at County EMS Building
The George W. Lee Civil War Round Table will be meeting this Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Livingston County EMS Headquarters Building (aka John E. LaBelle Public Safety Complex), 1911 N. Tooley Rd, Howell. This building is located on the east side of Livingston County Airport. Tooley Road is accessed off of M-59, about a quarter mile east of the intersection of M-59 & Grand River Ave.
At the February meeting, there will be short presentations by three members of the Round Table. Jeff Dewey has spent years researching R. Waldo Parker. In February he is going to share his research and photographs with us. The manufacture of CW boots and shoes will be discussed by Brian Dewey in his program, "Best Foot Forward". He will focus on the cost and shoddiness of the materials that were used. Andrew Keeney, who has been a model railroader all his life, will give a power point presentation on "The Battle of Allatoona" concerning the railroad north of Atlanta.  He has many images he took on location and will share them with us that evening.
