Alexander J. Tait
    Alexander J. Tait was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 24, 1926 and passed away on May 27, 2018 in Lansing, Michigan. He was the son of George R. and Gladys L. Tait. Alex was a graduate of Detroit Redford High School.    
     During World War II he proudly served as a rifleman with the 4th Infantry Division in Europe. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1950. 
     On June 21, 1947 he married Barbara J. Alton and she survives him. His survivors also include four children: Susan J. Lasswell, Karlin A. Cox, James A Tait and Steven A. Tait; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother George R. Tait Jr. and grandson Joseph Tait Cox.
     For many years Alex was in the insurance and real estate business in Fowlerville, Michigan. He was an avid hunter and sportsman with an enviable career in the Mesa, Arizona Senior Softball League. In 1992, at age 66, his Mesa Seniors team (age 65 plus) won the World Championship. Playing second base, Alex was 25 for 29 hits at bat and on base 28 for 30 attempts.
     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville. Arrangements by: Herrmann Funeral Home.  Please leave the family a condolence at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
