Walter Lee Lloyd
    Walter Lee Lloyd, age 98, of Fowlerville, died Sunday, July 8, 2018.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Sanford Cemetery, Cohoctah, with Pastor Oliver Allbright officiating.  A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 12-2 PM at Calvary Bible Church of Cohoctah, 1389 Elm St, Cohoctah.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Heartland Hospice or a Veteran's charity of your choice.  
   Walter was born January 24, 1920 in Owosso, the son of George Henry and Letty Mae (Ordway) Lloyd.  He was a 1938 graduate of Byron High School.  He married Ruby Merrow on May 5, 1941 in Clio, and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2011.  He had resided in the Fowlerville (Cohoctah) area most of his life.  Walter retired in 1983 from Howell Auto Parts after 35 years of service.  He was a member of the Durand V.F.W. Reed Raymond Post #2272.  He enjoyed bowling, baseball, fishing, camping, and traveling across Michigan during the color tour in the fall.  He also enjoyed overhauling Ford tractors.  
    Surviving are: his children: Ruby "Liz" Hale of Webberville, Linda "Toad" Underhill of Haslett, Peggy (Larry) Embury of Byron, Walter "Bud" Lloyd, Jr. of Fowlerville, and Robert (Cindy) Martin of Evert; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  
    He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marie Lloyd; brothers, William Wesley Lloyd and Dan Ordway; and sister, Evelyn Chapman.  Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
