Blanche Caroline Young, 94 of Beloit, Wisconsin (Fowlerville, MI) returned to her heavenly home on April 20, 2024 and joined her beloved husband, Max. Her devotion to family, friends, and church, and her belief in God supported her throughout life and also those touched by her grace, which ultimately gave her peace.

Blanche was born, one of a dozen siblings, on February 13th, 1930, to the late Hjalmar and Clara (Beal) Hillberg, a farmer and a homemaker respectively, in Sisseton, SD. She was immersed in the Christian faith community that would be her lifelong support from the age of a young woman. At 65, she graduated from Blackhawk Technical College in 1995 with a GRE and a certificate in nursing assistance and accepted a position as a nurse’s aide at Beloit Regional Hospice, Beloit, WI where she worked for nine years.

They moved to Beloit Wisconsin in 1955 where they raised not only their birth children, but also helped raise 17 foster children including Katherine Kubitz Gilbert, the late Diana Kubitz and William Kubitz and Jill Kruit.

Max and Blanche taught their children to serve others through caring, and often took them on long family trips to see visit their grandparents in South Dakota. From the very beginning, they dedicated their children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the scriptures, leading each of them, to their unique expressions of love for life and others. Blanche was a servant at heart. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to care for others. Her loved ones, who celebrate that she is at peace with her creator, will dearly miss her.

Blanche is survived by brothers, Raymond and Donald; two daughters, Bonnie (Joseph) Haller and Virginia (Michael) Seno, and a son, Albert Young; her five grandchildren Barb (Chico) Thumudo, Chris (Katie) Haller, Erin Bockoven (Mark) Troll, Patrick (Devin Carter) Meyer, and Ivy (Jared) Shmikler; great grandchildren: Breanna, Clayton, Coree; Lainey, Trina and Cole; and her brother-in-law, James Doshadis.
