Richard Peterson
Richard Peterson passed away September 20, 2023 at his home. He was born December 8, 1937 in Wayne County to Robert E. and Florence (Anderson) Peterson. He graduated from Pershing High School and attended Highland Park Junior College. He worked as a journeyman die maker and upon retirement worked part-time at Van Zwolls Market, then as the caretaker at Webberville United Methodist Church. His only real hobby was trains and train memorabilia. He took his family on the Silverton train and more recently went to Arizona and back on Amtrak. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol and daughter Ramona (Dan) Putnam. He was preceded in death by his son Dale in 1981; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and George Stolpe, and his parents. Contributions may be made to Webberville United Methodist Church in Richard’s memory.
A Funeral Service will be held 11am Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Webberville United Methodist Church, 4215 Holt Rd, Webberville, MI 48892. Pastor Paula Vergowven officiating. Visitation will be held from 4pm-8pm on Monday at Herrmann Funeral Home, 1005 E. Grand River Ave., Fowlerville, MI 48836, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
