 Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance will host “Laugh Teal You Cry ” comedy event at Historic Howell Theatre

The Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) will host their ovarian cancer awareness comedy night “Laugh Teal You Cry” at the Historic Howell Theatre.

MIOCA is bringing the laughs to Howell on Friday, October 7, starting at 6pm.

Nine-year ovarian cancer survivor and national touring comedian, Karen Mills, will headline while local musician Chris Himburg will kick off the night. Tickets are $50 general admission and $25 for ovarian cancer survivors Event link to purchase tickets is https://app.donorview.com/4rXq

A Ticket purchase includes one drink, appetizers, pre-show musical entertainment and admission to the comedy show.

“We are very excited to bring the community together in the beautiful city of Howell and the surrounding areas for a night of something fun and meaningful this Fall, '' said event coordinator Diann Glaza-Helbling.

She added that the LAUGH TEAL YOU CRY event holds a unique message to those impacted by ovarian cancer and any anyone who is facing a challenge: stay positive and embrace the humor. Karen knows first hand that even when your body is weak, your spirit can be strong. Chris is a talented acoustic guitarist strumming and singing in Oakland County since 2004.

Doors will open at 6pm for a mix and mingle hour of cockTEALS and a cold appetizers buffet while listening to Chris perform. Karen's show will start at 7pm.

Every 23 minutes a person is diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the U.S. and this is the deadliest gynecological cancer. Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011. MIOCA strives to save lives by promoting the early detection of ovarian cancer and improved treatment outcomes to all of those with ovaries throughout the state of Michigan.
