Shirley Ann Yost
Shirley Ann Yost, age 86 of Fowlerville passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Oliver Woods Retirement Living in Owosso.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Fowlerville Nazarene Church with Pastor Craig Weihman officiating. Burial preceded the service at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday December 15, from 12 to 2pm.
Shirley was born January 9, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Russell and Belva (Johnson) Kearns. She graduated from Western High School and earned a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Henry Ford. Shirley was a member of Fowlerville Nazarene Church and spent several years as a camp nurse in Oscoda. She enjoyed raising rabbits and attending rabbit shows.
She married Herman Yost in Detroit on May 15, 1954.
Shirley was employed as a R.N.and Home Healthcare Nurse for many years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Herman; daughters, Susan (Paul) Guaresimo, Janet Yost, and Sharon (John) Lauerman; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and step-mother, Rose Kearns. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com.
