Babbette “Babs” Fern Bennett
Babbette “Babs” Fern Bennett, age 67 of Fowlerville, passed away at her home early Thursday afternoon, January 30, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family and following a long and courageous battle with A.L.S. Born in Howell on January 8, 1953, she was the daughter of the late George F. and the late Mable “Polly” (LaMott) Austin. Babs had been a lifelong Howell/Fowlerville resident and a 1971 graduate of Howell High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and actively participated in her children’s lives in scouting and dance. She always had a very optimistic outlook on life.
Beloved wife of nearly 44 years to Bob Bennett whom she married in Howell on June 12, 1976. Loving mother of Brianna (Frank Hogarth) Bennett of Williamston and Brandon (Christine) Bennett of Williamston. Proud and adoring grandmother of Maggie, Mabel, Austin and Mira Bennett. Sister of Paula Turner of Howell, Terry (Larry) Hodgins of Howell and George (Terrie) Austin, Jr. of White Water, Colorado.
A funeral service in honor and celebration of Babs’ life was held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Reverend Herb Wilson, officiated.
