Martin David Fitchett
Martin David Fitchett, of Webberville MI, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 61. He is preceded in death by his parents: Morris Irwin and Catherine Estelle “Stella” Fitchett, his granddaughter Elizabeth Chamberlain, and his oldest brother Morris “Bubba” Fitchett.
Martin was born on August 4, 1957 in Arlington, Virginia. In 1982 he moved to Williamston, Michigan where he met the love of his life, Dawn, and the two were wed on September 20, 1985. One of Martin’s passions throughout his life was cooking. Whether it was as a chef at Papa Dick’s Bistro, The Seahawk Restaurant or simply just whipping up a home-cooked meal, Martin loved being in the kitchen. Martin was not shy about his love for his grandkids, often saying “those grandkids are my life.” Martin loved to make people laugh. He was always telling classic “dad jokes” and making up silly songs, and he will forever be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Martin loved football, especially his favorite team—the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Martin is survived by his wife Dawn, children: Martin Lee Fitchett, Maranda (Tim) Fitchett, and Mark (Mallory) Fitchett, grandchildren: Hunter, Braden, Payton, Payge, Madisyn, Gavin and Gunner, siblings: Peggy (Bobby) Bohi and Mike Fitchett, and beloved canine companion, Ginger.
