Judy Hartman
    Judy Hartman, born in Hillsdale, MI to Marion and Edna Rice, died at her daughter Heather’s home in Linden, MI in the presence of close family members on September 26, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, an infant brother, Gerald, two elder brothers, Darrel “Skip” of Fowlerville and Richard “Dick” of Coldwater, a younger sister, Mary Ann Rigney of Hillsdale, an infant daughter, Bambi, and a son, Michael Brett Hartman (2011). 
    Judy is survived by daughter Heather (John) Engisch of Linden, former husband Frank Hartman of Mason, daughter-in-law Rhonda Hartman, sisters-in-law Sue Rice and Eva Rice, brother-in-law Bert Rigney, grandsons Shane (Rachel) and Cody Engisch, and granddaughters Aleighsha and Natashia Engisch, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 
    After graduating from Reading High School, Judy completed an x-ray tech degree, and worked at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. After homemaking, she went back into that field, and worked in Okemos, Howell, and Brighton. She retired from St. Joe’s Urgent Care in Brighton and Business Health where she had worked for many years. 
    Judy spent time as a homemaker, foster parent and child-care provider. She was active in her church, in the Fowlerville Philomathean Club, 4-H, and Michigan Extension. In later years, she volunteered with Family Impact Center and VIABIL (Visually Impaired and Blind in Livingston)and drove others to medical appointments. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, singing in church choir, playing hand bells, t.v., crosswords, game nights, trips and special times with family and close friends. 
     Despite final years of painful medical issues, Judy’s generous and caring nature radiated to all those fortunate enough to be in her presence. 
    Celebration of her life will include visitation at Herrmann Funeral Home, 1005 E. Grand River in Fowlerville MI on Friday, October 13 from 1:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm with funeral services on Saturday, October 14 at Fowlerville First United Methodist Church at 10:00 am, luncheon immediately to follow in the lower level of the church.
