Mary June Melton
Mary June Melton, age 70 of Howell, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 8, 2017. Born in Howell and a lifelong area resident, she was the daughter of Arza W. and Ardis M. (Richards) Clark. Mary was a 1966 graduate of Howell High School and active lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a member of United Methodist Women and a very good square dancer. Loved by family and friends, Mary was the beloved wife of Steven Melton whom she married in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1977. Also survived by her mother-in-law, Patricia Melton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Aunts, Cora Oesterle of Webberville, Frances Cronkrite of Howell and Carol Clark of Jackson; brother-in-law, Scott Melton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Nancy Sheperd of Hudson, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and many cousins; close neighbor and friend, Elaine Andersen.
Visitation was held Monday, March 13, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., while funeral services took place on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home with Reverend David Freeland officiating. Interment followed at Sanford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church, 8201 Iosco Rd., Fowlerville, MI 48836.
