WINE & CRAFT BEER TASTING FUNDRAISER
Wednesday, August 10 7:00pm-9:00pm


     Come support Howell Parks and Recreation as we raise money for our scholarship program while sampling some of Tony Sacco’s delicious food, wine, & craft beer! The Howell Recreation scholarship program provides support for individuals in our community who are unable to afford registration for programs like sports, runs, and more. Sample unlimited wines, craft beers, and food while supporting your favorite organization! Last day to register for this event is August 10th at 5pm. 56TH ANNUAL HOWELL MELON FESTIVAL
Friday, August 19th-Sunday, August 21st
Friday: 5-11pm
Saturday: 9-11pm
Sunday 8-5pm


    The Howell Melon Festival started 56 years ago as a small, downtown festival. Fast forward to today and it is one of Livingston County’s premiere events, attended by over 60,000 people each year! The Melon Festival is home to a multitude of amazing events and entertainment like the Melon Run, the Doc May Memorial Melon Ride, as well as free live music, delicious food and drinks, the Ultimate Air Dogs canine athletes, and so much more! 39TH ANNUAL MELON RUN 5K/10K
Friday, August 19th - 7:00pm
   The community tradition continues with the 39th Annual Howell Melon Run on August 19th. This is one of the most scenic and beautiful run/walks through residential streets, historic Lakeview Cemetery, and Howell City Park. The race starts and finishes in downtown Howell. On-site registrations, post-race awards, and refreshments (like melon ice cream) will all take place on State Street. Bring the whole family to enjoy all the special events including the Melon Roll, 1/4 Mile Tot Trot, Mascot Dash, One Mile Fun Run/Walk, 5K, and 10K. A security area will be provided for all runners during the race. The course is certified by USA Track & Field. Sign up online via RunSignUp.   


    Deadline to register and be guaranteed a shirt is Friday, August 12th.

8TH ANNUAL DOC MAY MEMORIAL MELON RIDE
Saturday, August 20th - 9:00am
     This ride has become a Melon Festival Tradition and is our way of celebrating the life and work of Dr. Pat May. The course is a little over 14 miles long and highlights historic neighborhoods, the McPherson Park Bike Path, Crosstown Trail, Howell City Park, and Lakeview Cemetery. The ride ends back at the Courthouse where melon ice cream inside a Howell Melon will be served. All Riders will receive a route map and commemorative t-shirt and Hometown Bicycles will be on the course helping riders with bike repairs during the ride. T-shirts are only guaranteed to participants who register before August 14th, 2016.
